ANOUNCEMENT

It is with the deepest regret that we announce the death of Duncan Black, our chairman. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and this society

YALHS members visit the barrow cemetary at Silk Hill on Salisbury Plain, the larger group are viewing the one of the impressive disc barrows (whilst standing in or close to a pond barrow). This was the end of a facinating trip to some of the rarely seen archaeological sites of Salisbury Plain under the excellent guidance of Richard Osgood head of the MOD Defence Estates Historical Environment Team.
